In this teacher action research, we will not be doing an exhaustive literature review. However, we can learn from other researchers and their work to help inform our problem and our action plan.

Why do a Literature Review?
  • Help you narrow the focus of a topic and help gather information for your research design.
  • Find examples of classroom applications, research questions, etc.
  • Discover a study you would like to replicate.
  • Provide potential solutions to your research problem.
  • Establish a connection between your work and that of others.
  • Use others insights to inform your own.
  • Helps you develop expertise in your field and as an educator.
  • Can save you time in your own work.
